Hi,

This is my first bmw and I wanted to get your advice on the deal I'm getting. (in Southern CA)

08 535, sports, premium, nav,ca, pdc, sports pedals, ipod, logic

msrp: 61,925

invoice is 56,920

He's selling it to me for $56,000 + tax/license (after premium credit)

Is this a good deal???

Also, how is BAMBOO wood on blk/blk? I have never seen it in person and can't find a car to look at it either before I get this car.

Any advice would be helpful...will shoot for base rates and $625 acq. fee if we agree on the price.

I am not sure if so. ca dealers charge MACO or other fees, but I feel the price should be around $55,500??

one last Q: Is it worth buying now or waiting 2-3 months and then trying to pick up a 08 535? I really don't need a car right now and can wait 2-3 mos, but I am not sure if they will still have the premium package credit and mf/olp rates in 2-3 months on 08s?? what do you guys think??

Sure it's a good deal if you're buying the car. If you're leasing then there are a whole lot of other issues.

I didn't crunch the numbers in detail, but it looks like the dealer is giving you half the premium package credit and making only about $1000 on the deal. That means your CA is probably getting a "mini" commission on the deal.

It's very unlikely you'll bet a better deal if you wait.

I have the Bamboo with dark blue interior and black dash and I think it looks great. Here is the only picture I currently have that shows the wood with the black dash. I can take a wide shot of the dash tonight if you want to see it?

The bamboo does look good. Even I might get it on my next car.

Can you post a wide shot of the dash? Thanks

The selling price seems to be very good. I am looking into a similarly equipped car and they are trying to sell it to me at 57800.

If you are getting the OLP discount and put down MSDs, this is great, jump on it. These deals will go away soon. Bamboo looks nice and very nice with black.

I just took a couple of dash pictures, but they didn't turn out. It is too dark to take without a flash and the flash makes the wood look much lighter than it is. I can take one during the day, but it will be Friday before I can do it.

I recently saw one at night, and the bamboo trim looked like plain black in the dark interior. That's exactly what some people want, but it wasn't for me.

Most likely, BMW will end the option credit program after this month. I'd say that if you're going to do it, now is the time. You are getting a heck of a deal and shouldn't pass it up.

BTW...Bamboo looks really nice. It's something different. Some people don't like the look of wood trim and some people hate the brushed aluminum. The bamboo is the median. You'll love it. Especially with black interior.

Is the MSRP of the sports pedals $1K? My math might be wrong (or maybe I am forgetting some other dealer fee that should be included in my calculation), but maybe you can help me out.

Not including the sports pedals, I came up with an invoice of $56,010 and an MSRP of $60,925 (this does not include the premium package incentive/credit). My math is as follows (invoice prices in parenthesis):
535i: $49,800 ($45,815)
Sports: $2,900 ($2,640)
Premium: $2,200 ($2,000)
NAV: $1,900 ($1,730)
CA: $1,000 ($910)
PDC: $700 ($635)
iPod: $400 ($365)
Logic: $1,200 ($1,090)
Destination: $825 ($825)

TOTAL: $60,925 ($56,010)

You didn't add pedals ($500) and I forgot to include heated seats in my original config. ($500)

Those two add up to the $1,000 differential you see on your MSRP

not pedals, the sport automatic transmission with PADDLES

+1! You operate pedals with your feet. You operate paddles with your hands. :p

Here are pictures of the bamboo wood from my 535i. It is difficult to get a decent picture of the wood - with flash it looks too bright and without it still doesn't look quite like it does in the car. :dunno: Might be my cheap camera.
