I am a new 2006 (e90) 330i owner. I just got the car the other day with an intention of buying a Lexus IS 350, Until I stepped into the BMW.

Some of my questions are about the specs on the 330i. I got the car from car max and they told me the car had 225 horsepower. But when i went online I have seen both 225hp and 255hp. Were there two different models or is someone just wrong. Too me it doesn't feel like 255 horsepower, but it might be cause I have been driving v8 jeep grand Cherokees for the past couple years and it might just feel faster because of the harsher suspension and ride.

Another question. Is i have been trying to spin the tires. So far no such luck even in wet weather. I have messed with the traction control. (Ex. hitting the dtc button once and trying, and hold for 3 seconds and trying then.) Is this normal. Its an automatic by the way.

Also a little problem i ran in on was I accidentally bumped into the light switch and turned them on. Killed the battery just enough to not let it start. ( I know i felt like a rookie). Well i jumped it real quick and everything was normal. Except the presets were gone on the navigation along with the time, which i though was strange since the car wasnt fully dead. So i reset them. Went on my way. Then when i got back in car and started it up after all this, the presets were back to the original settings before i killed the batery. So, i was like whelp. thats fine. Then i got into it agian and started it up and all the presents were gone and the mute button on the wheel would not work.

Any help would be great. Im not finding to much info on this 2006 e90 330i considering it was only made for a year.

If your car is a 330 and not a rebadged 325 (hint...xenons and chrome window trim), your car has 258HP. It has the N52 engine which comes in various flavors.

Enjoy it.

Congrats and welcome. The E90 330 engine is outstanding.

The E90 330 has an advertised hp of 255 with 220 lb-ft of torque. In '06 the 330 coupe was still the E46 and it has 225 hp with 214 lb-ft of torque.

Sounds like the battery situation may have introduced an electrical gremlin. You may have to get a dealer to look at it.

Be sure to read through the wiki (http://www.bimmerfest.com/wiki/index.php/BMW_E90) as well as the owner's manual.

The steering wheel buttons (diamon & star) can be configured for several things, not just as a mute button.

your nav/stereo preset issue may be due to you using two different keys. The stereo and seat settings are specific to each key.

also - I keep my lights on Automatic and never have to touch the light switch.

Your presets are stored in the Key. That is why it reset the next time you got in the car.

Yea, I just figured it out the key preset thing . My friend showed me today. Sorry I'm used to driving an old Jeep Grand Cherokee. Which its most tech feature being 4 wheel drive. I'm still learning, and reading the manual alot
