I just purchased a 2005 BMW X3 3.0 with bluetooth and BMW Assist (which i have not signed up for). I can't seem to pair my phone with the bluetooth. I have started the car and hit the "find new device" option on my phone, but it doesn't find the car. Any ideas why it's not working? It seems as though a lot of Motorola phones are compatible and this being a new one should work fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

my bmw shows up as a bmw in the search manual. It took me awhile to figure it out, and I actually think you may need to hit the key on your steering wheel to get it to show up. You will also need the code that is on a post card in the manual book. if you do not have the 4 number code you will not be able to pair.

Yes, I do have the card with the four digit code from the dealer. Which button were you refering to? I tried pushing the button with the person talking but that didn't work.
Assuming everything is working as it should, there are no buttons to press on the X3. But you must initiate pairing within the first 2 min after turning the ignition on.
There is a history of some TCUs failing. Try another phone or have the dealer check yours to determine whether it is the X3 or your phone.

Ok, thanks. I'm going to swing by the dealer and have them check it out.
