Hi all,

My dad is in the market for a new 5-series, and I had a few questions:

1. I've been reading about the premium package incentive. If I understand it correctly, I would instantly receive a credit for the price of the premium package (i.e., $2.2K MSRP or $2K invoice). Is this correct? Also, I have not been able to find a definitive answer on when this incentive runs until.

2. Jon Shafer posted some invoice/wholesale pricing on the MY 2008 5-series last year. However, I wanted to confirm that those prices are still good. For example, he has listed a destination & handling fee of $775 whereas all of the other websites have D&H fee of $825. He'd like to be fully informed before he walks into a dealership to start any negotiations.

3. I also wanted to confirm that he is eligible for both the 0.9% APR financing AND the premium package incentive.

My biggest question would be: what would be a good deal on the following car?

535i ($45,815 invoice/$49,800 MSRP)
Steptronic Transmission (no charge)
Rear-Side Impact Airbag ($350 invoice/$385 MSRP)
Heated Front Seats ($455 invoice/$500 MSRP)
Premium Package ($2,000 invoice/$2,200 MSRP)

Monaco Blue Exterior/Grey Leather (or Natural Brown) interior/Bamboo Wood Anthracite

Also, what other dealer charges (other than the $825 D&H charge) should he be aware of?

Thanks.

John

You can get both 0.9 and ZPP credit.

If it's $775, production date is before June price increase. Use those invoice numbers on this car as opposed to the numbers you might see now on sites reflecting invoice.

Incentive is till 9/2 I think.

Thanks for the reply!

Any opinions on what kind of deal I should be aiming for with the options that I've listed?

There was a small price increase effective with June production cars. The increase was to the base price of the car, the step transmission and a few other items. For the items on the bimmerfest invoice price list that changed figure the percentage difference from wholesale to MSRP on the pre-increase price and appy it to the post-increase MSRP price to get the current wholesale price. Or just ballpark it, since it's not much and doesn't apply to many prices! :)

Every region of the country is a little different, but IMO if you can secure a price of plus/minus $500 of invoice (after applying the ZPP credit) that would be a good deal.
