At low or no speed the steering rack is making a binding noise - almost like something is restricting the movement - I'm starting to wonder about the problematic motor mount bolts. Did this problem impact anybody here with an 06? Any other ideas on what the problem may be? How best to examine the mounts themselves - seems to be conflicting things I've read here?

Thanks,
Dave

Pull of the passenger wheel and you can see the four bolts.
I was able to torque three of the four. Mine were OK.
To torque the rear top bolt you have to remove the reinforement plate.

Can see the drivers side by pulling the air box.

Before I did all that, I'd check the srut bars under the hood. Much more common problem.

Appears to have been the H & R's not seated properly.

The springs not seated on the bottom perch or the top needle bearing not seated properly?

Bottom of perch.

Makes sense. Thanks.

That needle bearing looks very fragile and if not seated properly would probably bend or break necessitating a replacement.
