What might be the cause of this; Yesterday my 95 740i began to idle at 1800-2200 rpms when the car is put in "park" or "neutral". It is also idling at around 850 rpm in general and it seems like the car doesn't slow down really at all when you take your foot off the gas. I can put the car in "drive", let my foot off the brake, and do about 15-20 mph without touching the accelerator. I just spent $2200 replacing the valley pan, water pump, fan clutch, and all those other items that make up that particular procedure, so I'm hoping this one is cheap, or even a DIY. Any thoughts out there?
