First off, I am looking to use 188s on my E92 328xi with sport package for my winter setup. I am wondering if it is possible/feasible to use all front size (i.e. 17 x8) instead of the wider wheels in the back. Does anyone know if this is possible and what impact positive or negative it would have on my car?
I assume I would need some sort of spacers, can anyone point me towards those?
Also I found the wheeels I am looking for at a great price from Finish Line Wheels (link below). Has anyone purchased wheels from them before and can anyone comment on the transaction?

Thanks for all the help.

cant speak to your other questions, but i dont think you'll need to use spacers.
the offset difference in front vs rear is to compensate for the wider rear rim.

Well I am suggesting that I use the front rim in the rear rather than the wider rear rim. I have heard that offset rears can have a negative affect in the snow and the rears are a lot more money and I don't think I need the wider ones for the winter, but I am not sure. Looking for some of the experts to chime in.

Shouldn't be a problem. You can also mount all 4 tires of the same size on the staggered rim set up if you want.
The Tire Rack site has tons of info - go into the specifications on the tires you want and then look at rim width. You'll likely find that for the tire size you want the rim width will work on both the front and the back. Enter your vehicle and click on the 18 inch tires size and the computer will spit out which tires you need.
This is what Gary recommended for me in order to use my existing sport package 18 inch wheels with winters after I bought 19 inch summers. The tire will be slightly wider up front and slightly narrower in the rear.
I'm doing this now with 19 inch winters since I bought the Dinan wheels. Why buy an extra set of rims when I can get 19 inch snow tires? We'll see how they work...
Having all four tires the same size will eliminate the issues with the wider rear tires of the staggered factory set up.
I bought some oem rims from finishline a few years back for my 5 series. They were fine and the service was pretty good.
The UPS guys think I'm in the tire and wheel business...if you look at my sig you can see I've been through a few different sets of wheels and tires over the past few years.

Thanks. What I am really thinking of doing is ordering 4 front (8in) rims and no rears because they are cheaper. So what i am wondering is if they will fit with the brakes and whatnot since my car currently takes 8.5's in the rear can i just put 8's on without doing anything else?

you will be fine with front rims all around.
no spacers needed, the clearance is the same. your rear brakes are smaller than the front.
