I receive my new '08 Z4 M Coupe in a few weeks. Since I'm here in Germany, we use the long Euro plates. For sure I don't want to drill holes in the front bumper to mount the plate. Previously I've used two sided tape with 2mm of foam inbetween. That stuff is hell to remove, even with Griot's adhesive remover. But once removed you can't tell it was ever there. Anyone have a better idea? Unfortunately, it's not an option to not have a front plate and you can't place it behind the windshield.

On Audiworld, a lot of guys used to use a very high power magnet setup. They would put a few behind the bumper skin and put a couple on the plate and attach when needed and remove when not... Your two sided tape may be more secure though.

Gominigo offers a Euro plate adapter for their "No Holes" mount:

Not sure how strict cops are in Germany, but I would suggest the Gominigo plate bracket and just keep it in your rear compartment until you get pulled over. Then take it off again when you get home if you're so bold. The great thing about the Gominigo bracket is that it's very easy to take on and off.

this seems like the best option. i've seen it on someone else's car and its pretty hidden.

Clever design unfortunately there isn't enough over-hang on the Z4 front bumper cover to accommodate the width of a US spec license plate.
If you absolutely must have a center mounted front plate with no visible holes in the bumper cover then the Skene Design bracket is your Zed 4 choice.

Now that's just slicker than pig snot... too bad it won't work with the Z4's/M's...

I have to agree that the skene design may be your best option for a Euro plate. I used something similar to the Skene bracket when I was in Europe but the thing kept getting reipped off at the Mr Wasche car wash... Teh skene is much more firmly mounted though than what I had fabircated.

you can just cut a small hole into the top of the mesh and the plate will just slide in

The "small" hole will need to be at least 12" X 3" to accommodate the license plate and backing plate. That's a bigger hole than I want to cut in the black plastic honeycomb.
Thanks for the reference. It's a neat design that I'm sure works well on many cars. I'll just stay with the off-center, non-intrusive "No Holes" Gomonigo.
