I suspect the official document will be uploaded somewhere on Bimmerfest later today, but pricing for 2009 models is out, except the 7er.
The '09 X3 3.0si starts at $39.400 MSRP. Production starts in 9/08.
Space Grey metallic replaces Silver Grey metallic
Mineral Green metallic replaces Highland Green metallic
Vermillion Red metallic replaces Crimson Red.
Light Burl Walnut wood replaces Dark Ash wood.
Saddle Brown replaces Sand/Black leather.
Oyster leather replaces Gray leather.
New snazzy wheels for standard and Sport Activity Package. Standard wheels are 17" Style 279, same as what comes standard in the Edition Lifestyle X3s in Germany. SAP wheels are style 280, like what comes with the Edition Exclusive X3s.

CR only lasted 2 years.
Anyone interested in a "rare" Crimson Red X3?

I actually test drove a 2004 Flamingo Red X3. I liked the color. Didn't like the fact it was stripped (no cruise, power seats, etc...)

Flamenco, not Flamingo.

My tastes are obviously out-of-date: both CR and the two-tone interior.

Are you sure they are doing away with the dark ash trim? I ordered my 09' X3 in the beginning of August, I heard about the color and interior changes but no trim changes. I put the saddle brown in my X3 and asked if the dark ash was still avalible, the salesperson said it would. I'm not saying the salesperson knows more than you or is even right for that matter, i'm just confused now.:dunno:

The Sept08 German price list confirms that dark ash is no longer available and that light burl walnut is now available.
I suspect the salesperson is misinformed; unfortunately these kinds of changes sometimes don't get promulgated very well to the dealerships at changeover time.
So: It is not inconceivable that it could still show up with dark ash. If it shows up with light walnut, you can decide whether you like it. If you still prefer the dark ash, you can order the trim pieces at the parts counter and change it out -- if the light walnut is swapped out carefully and is undamaged, it should sell on eBay. If it shows up without dark ash and you decide that you still want dark ash, you could also ask the saleperson to swap the wood trim out at no cost or reduced cost to you.
You've still got options...
I've had a bunch of BMWs with various wood trims and have the dark ash in my X3. It is -- how do I say this nicely? -- a little boring... too dark to show the grain well. Anybody know where I can find someone with a set of light walnut to swap with? :eeps::angel: Of course, none of us have seen the light burl walnut in real life yet, so I will reserve judgement. I suspect it will be more attractive than the dark ash. Time will tell...

But anyway, he said he's going to call me in a couple weeks with an update on my order status so I guess i'll find out about the wood trim then. I'm still waiting for that call though. I better not have to call him:D

Good point. The "light" walnut looks pretty dark to me.

I think with the saddle brown leather that i'm getting the walnut trim may even match better than the dark ash, but i'm not completely sure yet...

Flamenco, not Flamingo.
I stand corrected. Just repeating what the guy at the garage said. Nice color though and hard to find.

Ok, Anyone know when the pricing for the X3 is supposed to come out? I was hoping to get an idea of ED price increases before Sept 2nd so I could decide whether to pick one up here or take another trip to germany (yes...I know, the choice seems rather obvious :beerchug:)

ED is usually 7% off the US-delivery MSRP, so an estimate would be a starting MSRP of $36.650

7% off of MSRP is what they say on the main BMW site, but the actual savings from ED wholesale to US MSRP ranges much higher than that.
Example:
335i Coupe
$42,000 - MSRP
$ 2,940 - 7% Savings
-------------------------
$39,060 - Total Cost
$35,935 - True ED Wholesale
------------------------------------
$ 3,125 - Difference between 7% off MSRP ED and Wholesale ED or 14.4% off of MSRP.
Anyways....if anyones got the new confidential pricing on the X3 I would appreciate it.
Thanks!

Looks pretty good to me, too. Straight grain instead of burl and I can see where it could be called "light."

The MY09 pricing posted above still shows Light Poplar Trim as an option???? Light Walnut is not listed??

I have an '06 with the light grey leather. On mine, a lot of the dash & door panels are light grey to match, kind of like the beige with beige in the thumbnail above. But for the grey in the thumbnails above, it looks like BMW has shifted to black panels instead? I don't think it looks as good that way. For the '09 I'll be buying next year, I'm leaning towards black leather now.
