View Full Version : e93 rear seatbacks keep falling..
geez what gives? my rear seatbacks fall down every time i'm on the hwy..
i cant tell if its a stray bump or airflow at speed or hitting the brakes at a certain speed, but these things are not hooked in very tightly
IIRC i think there are just 2 pushbtton type knobs and a measly hook in the middle.
am i missing anything here? ne1 else experience same?

had the same issue the other day while on the freeway with top down. I just think I didn't latch it properly. I closed it fairly hard and tugged on it to make sure it was latched.

Yep. You have to push firmly in the middle of the seat back (where the hook is) (not just slam it shut and no use pushing on the outside edges where the release buttons are) to get it to latch.

I have the same problem as well- top down, highway speeds. Has happened at least 5 times in 4 mo. Does not seem to be related to hitting rough spots of highway or bumps. The loud noise of the seat slamming down scares me when it happens- can't be safe. I planned on mentioning this when I take my car in for its first service. Did not seem to be a big enough problem on its own to warrant a visit, in my opinion.
thanks to all..
after further review i think i am missing a part..
i have the metal 'loop' on the rear deck but on the
carpeted rear of the seat back there are just two holes.
looks like a latch or hook is missing.
can ne1 confirm what part belongs there?
thanks!
