i helped a friend get a new bimmer today.
yesterday the best price she had was 1000 below MSRP.
we went down to VOB in rockville and got her 500 below invoice. dealership held .0025 on the money factor and charged her 825 acq fee which didnt make much of a difference on the payment and i figured they were entitled to some profit.
she got a 328i with premium, cold weather pkg and ipod for 499/mth for 3 year lease with 15k miles with only taxes as DP. i did tell her to take the higher payment and pay 0 down, but she wanted to stay under 500.
so, was it a decent deal or should i not call her my friend anymore?

I don't know if you have the info available, but it'd be nice if we had the MSRP and negotiated sale price.

ok, my bad.
msrp was 39750, price we agreed to was 35900, invoice was 36700. MF was .0015 and acq was 825.
she went 36 mths lease with 15k and 56% as residual. buyback option of 21900.

Yes, that is a good deal. The money factor was marked up a tiny bit (if I am remembering the current lease rates correctly), but it wouldn't have made more than a $10 (or so) per month difference in the deal. And, the acq fee could have been had at $625 or $650... but again, not a big difference per month.

looks like a great deal, good job! Next question is...where did you get it?

got it from VOB in rockville.
i beat up the poor CA pretty bad when i was negotiating for my car, had all the tools i needed off this site. this time around, the numbers dropped before we even got serious about the car. the CA is also very professional and not arrogant like the boys at passport and doesnt beg like them or have the sales manager chase you in the parking lot if you decide to leave.
its actually pretty easy and straight forward with this CA. i wouldnt have anyone go anywhere else for any bimmer.
thank god for bimmerfest.com though. if i were a bmw dealer, i'd hire hackers to bring this site down!!!!

if anyone wants specifics, msg me and i'll give you her contact info.

if it is an 08, why lease when there is .09% financing?
otherwise sounds like a good deal...

my friend just graduated and she says when she makes partner at her practice, she's gonna want a 5er or an SC430. so she'll b getting a new car in 3 years anyways.

i bought my car and got into an accident 9 mths later. it has absolutely killed my resale value to a point where i'm stuck in my car. lost 9k in one year if i were to trade it in now.
also a 3 year old bimmer like hers trades for about 15-17k which would be a 4k loss since her buyback is 21900.
with her MF, she's paying 3.6% but for 3 years only on 14k, so the difference cant be much since .9 would be on 35k for 5 years.
but the main thing is that i owned a bimmer after the warranty and it was a nightmare. promised never to own another bimmer again. only leases!
