Here is my situation...1998 318ti automatic , that drops a "P1511" OBD code which is "DISA" (Diferentiated intake manifold) control circuit electrical. The car drives fine and pulls hard in D1 and D2, when D3 is pushed hard there is a flat spot at about 3800 rpm...this flat spot is quick and the motor will then rev out fine to 6500rpm, but like I said,the flat spot is not noticed in D1 or D2. If I pull the electrical plug on the DISA valve I get the same exact results. Is that flat spot, the DISA thats not working correctly, what signals the valve to open and close (RPM,vacuum,throtle position) and why am I not seeing the same results in 1st and 2nd gear? The valve is 220$ at my local BMW and needs to be pre ordered, but I want to be sure it will fix the problem before I go for it. Any insight into this problem would be greatly appreciated......Thanks
