First off - just ended my wifes 06 x3 lease auto and heated seats. Ended up getting a CPO 2005 X3 wit Premium, CWP, Sport, Servotronic, Xenon.
Got the 2005 CPO with the 6/100k maintence for 23.3k (40,000 miles).
Seems like an amazing deal, right?
Anyway, BMW assist... have had 2 BMW in the past, never had BMW Assist, worth it at all? $199/yr is not very steep... but does anyone use the thing?
Just making sure I got to post the details of my deal so other prospective 2005 CPO buyers can see what others are getting.

We haven't bothered with BMW Assist, even though it came with the X3. I suggest you go ahead and skip it.
This is a perfect case of "it all depends...". I drive to the Sierras alone a couple of times a year, so I viewed BMW Assist as cheap insurance in case I was run off the road in a blizzard or whatever. Fortunately, I never needed it, and it is now included for 4 years for "free" with my new '08.

Yeah, I can see that. It is my wife's car and she is never in an area without cell reception, and has a car charger...
Regarding the price paid for the car - is htis what others are seeing on CPO 05's?

keep in mind, if your cell phone can't get a signal, the car can't either.

We've always had AAA so assist is redundant. The 325i had it only because we ended up taking a car from dealer stock. When we ordered the X3 we didn't even consider assist.

Not exactly, for two reasons:
The Assist antenna is external and roof-mounted.
More importantly, there may be differences in coverage. For example, Sprint and T-Mobile have limited range as they operate at 1900 Mz. IIRC, Assist uses Verizon at 800 MHz and, therefore, has significantly better range.
