Ok...what should be the weight rating on my car's tires?

2002 530i with standard 17 inch wheels.

My Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s are starting to go a little past the wear indicator...well...a lot...I'm a procrastinator.

So I started looking up tires, and my friend, who has a 1999 528, but with 17 inch wheel with Continental ContiSports, mentioned the weight rating has to be 94 (like his tires.) My current tires have 94 weight rating. I looked in the trunk, and my original spare Michelin Pilot Primacy tires have a 93 weight rating. I searched the owner's manual, but there is no tire information in it.

Anybody know where to find the information on what the correct tire weight rating should be?

Thanks,
Steve

Unless you are carrying a trunk load of lead or pulling an Airstream I wouldn't worry about weight ratings. I doubt you can exceed them.

Any tire we carry in 235/45R17 will have more than enough load capacity for your car.
