1994 325ic rear speaker removal?

I've found a couple related posts about replacing the rear speakers in a 1994 325ic, but none that explain how to get to the speakers. One is blown, and I'm sure that that other is on its way.

Are the grills removable for access to the speakers, or is removal of the entire armrest panel necessary? I've been looking for a website that might explain how to do it, but nothing found thus far.

Hi. If you grab a hold of the trim piece that sits over top the speakers and slide it forward, it will "unlatch." There are no bolts or clips to "undo" Good luck. Any more questions, let me know.
