I just got my 05 X3 3.0I couple days ago, love the car so far. I thought all x3 come with factory alarm and should make a sound like all other keyless entry systems to confirm locking/arming actions, but my car doesn't make any sound during locking/unlocking.

I'm suspecting BMW dealer never programmed previous owner's keys properly. :angel:

Anyone know why?

Unless you bought an alarm system there isn't one

Like the 3er and Z4, the alarm does not come standard on the X3. You may only program visual acknowledgement for lock/unlock unless the alarm is installed.
