Electronic problem

hi. I have a 2002 735i with the i drive . The electronics on the steering wheel and steering colum have gone, ie wipers, lights, indicater, radio volume and trip buttons. Also when started i am given warnings about the gearbox and automatic park function. I think these could be related to the electronics. Any ideas where to look or what to do etc?? Thanks.
