So I think we are buying a '05 X3. It's black on black which seems rare as I see black Ext but usually Tan interiors.
Any advice for a new buyer I it's got 49600 miles? ( I am current owner of a 2001 325)

I have seen several BonB but was never attracted to them. Black is great when it is clean but shows every speck of dust and even worse, swirls in the paint if you are not really careful when washing it. I have a black interior and hate it. Too hot in the summer and hard to find things on the floor when you drop them at night, even with the lights on. I added grey weathertech mats and that helped a lot. Your '05 is right at the end of the warranty so you only have a few miles to get everything "fixed". You don't mention if you are buying from a BMW dealer, so if not, I would certainly take it right away to the nearest BMW store and have it checked out and anything that needs to be fixed, fixed. You should also get (if you haven't already) a print out of the history as to what was repaired, and when. That is a high miler so you should be getting it at a reduced price too! Good luck!

I have a BonB 04 and it's fine. Black interiors don't show "accidents" and arm dirt etc. the way light colors do. The AC in the X3 is great and will cool things down in a hurry. I have a fitted windshield sunshade that I use in the summer here in Texas and it really helps. Swirl marks are no problem if the car has been buffed correctly. This is black/black car number 8 for us. I do keep them clean however and use a duster between washes which works great .

I don't know about Atlanta but in California, this is very common in any BMW models. I have a black on black '05 X3 and it still looks like new after 3 years. The only drawback is that it gets really hot inside during summer. Which black are you getting? Sapphire is a lot more forgiving than Jet Black in terms of swirl marks and other minor scratches. But nothing comes close to an ultra clean Jet Black.

Ironic, in our X3 search, the black ones seemed to offer the best deals, white is the most expensive, and Silver or Silver Gray was somewhere in the middle.

It's a regional preference I think...
