I removed all dealer 'advertising' from my new car. Back in 2000 when I had a badass Viper GTS, my wife gave me a custom license plate frame that read "This IS my other car" I still have the frame, but not the car
[wife's name]'s 2002.
Then she got a real one.
So now nothing.
By now I should know to save money by getting her what she wants in the first place.

+1 - I don't buy cars from a dealer for any other reason than they have the car, or they are the place I intend taking the car for service - that doesn't entitle them to any advertising what so ever on my vehicle. I won't even take one of their key-rings or temporary floor mats - all that stuff has to go when it's "purpose" is served.
My Yukon has a custom made plate surround which has my company name on it - which considering the company actually owns the car, is a concession I make to myself - as I own the company (w/the wife).

All the dealers propoganda is removed immediately. I refuse to accept the car until they remove all advertising. Other than that, just personal preference. My X5 has a clear cover with minor tint and my university frame on the back. My other car has just a simple, thin black frame. I like to have something for a frame. I also think the big BMW logo plate some put on as a replacement to the front license plate looks silly. Like they can't tell from the grill and the hood emblem that I'm driving a BMW.

Every dealer frame I've ever had has gone immediately in the trash, until now. BMW of Humboldt Bay, in a nice chrome painted steel.
I've been adverse to the free advertisement (and when traveling, an out-of town ID) before but I need these guys to stick around because they are the only local show. I'll keep this one on until the 4 years warranty is over.

If you want to get him, use license plate frame with the logo for a Malaysian Proton, a Chinese car company like Cherry or if you want retro, an old Soviet era Yugo.

I have been looking for a good frame. I still have the dealer (which is the only marking on the car). I am leaning to a palm tree one but haven't made up my mind yet. Hubby had ordered me some with my name on it but they couldn't spell my name right and I told him I didn't think that was such a good idea anyway.
