I noticed on the 2009 X5 ordering guide that Saddle Brown Nevada leather is a Priority 1 color. What does that mean? Also, does anyone know if '09 X5s will have any exterior custom colors available?

:)

That means that dealers can only order if for a customer sold order and not for stock car. Saddle was the same status for 2008. We have it on my wife's Alpine White X5 and it looks great. I do not believe that there are any priority 1 exterior colors for the X5. The only other priority 1 option that I am aware of in the U.S. for the X5 is aluminum interior trim in place of woor.

You can always order a "custom" color... but it will cost you $$$. Ask your dealer.

I think it might have lost its priority 1 status, as I was able to build an X5 on the BMWUSA.com configurator with it last month. Intriguing color. I figured it would look like Natural Brown on an E60 till I went and saw one at the dealership (Monaco over saddle).

The Saddle leather has a definite orange tint to it - like a cross between an new football and a pumpkin. I was expecting more along the lines of a Coach handbag, and would call it polarizing - you either love it or you hate it. Probably looks awesome with some exterior colors (like AW), not so hot with others. YMMV.

Seating surfaces, headrests and door inserts are Saddle. Carpets, dash and wheel are black. And the back of the seats (the portion facing the rear with the seat pocket) are black as well. Very pronounced 2-tone. Like I said, love it or hate it.
