Driver's side Door????

I have a 93' 325is in which the driver's side door opens from the inside but it doesn't open from the outside of the car. I am having to walk around the passenger side and getting in the car and opening my door from the inside. Does anyone have some ideas of what may be going wrong? I am going to take off the door panel but first I'm wanting to get some ideas on what may be going on. Thanks.

your handle is busted inside of the door for the outside function to work. PITA job to do if you dont take out the window, guides and few other pieces but you can do it with all that stuff in there.

i have the same problem with my car. but is the passenger side. would also like to know the details of what part i need and how to repear this. i have looked at the working side and seems there is something that goes from the handle to a mechinesm below it. but nothing on the passenger side to connect it. is very hard to see in there
