Hey all - Just wondering if there are any Eastern Ontario folks hanging around here -- Belleville? Kingston? Brockville? I feel as though living in Kingston is living in BMW no-mans land. It's a minimum of a 2 hour drive to the nearest dealers, there's nothing around for certified BMW service, none of the parts places carry anything "BMW" in stock, my poor E46 feels lonely out in this corner of Canada!

If anyone else is in the area and wants to chime in - feel free! If you're looking to do a little self-diagnosis I have a Peake R5/SRS and an R5/FCX-3 so I can read and reset OBDII and SRS lights - just drop me a PM (no charge - freebie for Bimmerfesters!)

Who are your favourite CDN vendors for parts? Service? Etc.

Looking forward to hearing back from anyone!

I would LOVE to use your r5/srs tool if your willing to lend it to me. I live in Peterborough and just had an airbag light come on.

PS bimmerspecialist.com is my fav bimmer part supplier. They have a Canadian side with no duties and CAD prices.

Check your PM's re: R5/SRS

I've bought almost everything partswise from bimmerspecialist as well - I also found my local Benson's can get most parts custom order within 48 hours if I don't mind waiting - with no shipping costs or anything (and I get a corp. discount there and don't pay PST). I got my rear calipers there in the fall.

I live in Brockville and my local Benson wont bother with parts for my 1992 318 IS. I find im amungst one of the only people with a BMW around here. And now when looking for parts have to drive an hour and a half to Ottawa and go dealer direct to get my parts.

I'm also in K-town and I have the same issues. I can do most of the work on the car myself so my problem is mainly parts availability, but this is the age of the overnight courier. For service, try Brian Madeley on Bath Road west of the Audi(spit) dealer. He used to be a BMW tech back when there was a dealer in town, and is good with all kinds of European cars.

Hope to see you on the road, we can have Kingston BMW-owner meet-ups, all two or three of us.

No longer living in K-Town, but down on queen street, right before the t-intersection there's a BMW/Import mechanic/dealer. I've had quite a bit of work done on my e21 there, and my father has had a massive amount of work done on his land rover and they seem quite good. Just wish I could remember the name of the shop.
