Hi everybody. I'm new in this and I really hope someone can help me. I'm driving a X5 and I bought my wife a 120i a while back. Over the weekend i saw that my wifes 1 series tire warning light came on. I checked the tires and made sure all the tire pressures are right. My problem is that when I bought the 120 (Secondhand) it did not have a user manual. I would just like to know how to clear the tire pressure warning.
Please help.

It is similar to that of the non-iDrive 1er and 3er. With the dial on the indicator stalk, turn it up or down until you reach the (!) menu, press BC to go in. It will display Reset or Initialise. Push BC again, and then hold it for 5sec.

btw, had my tire sensor light go on this past weekend, called bmw assist...they said they are getting a lot of calls from the north east about this problem due to the inception of the cold weather. seems the cold weather effects the tire sensor. no worry, just cleared and reset, seems to be fine now!!

Did you also check and adjust your tyre pressures? At this time of year it is normal for the tyre pressure to drop 1psi or more a week due to ambient temperatures dropping. The cold weather affects the tyre pressure, not the sensor, it is just indicating your pressure is low.

Since temperature affects pressure, the cold weather naturally results in lower inflation and subsequent warnings. In addition, my experience with run-flats has been a drop of about 2 psi per month per tire with constant temperatures, so there's no substitute for periodically checking the pressures.

Hmmmm . . . my TP warning light came on last week. I checked the tires - and whaddya know? One of them was 6 pounds low, and the other three were 3 pounds low. Leveled them out according to the door sticker, and reset. Perhaps your TP system is working and you should check your tire pressure? Hmmm?

I'm told at BMW center that I need to use tire pressure gauge to test tire pressure twice a month. My question is when should I pump air at gas station: wait for TP pressure low warning turned on? Or if the presure getting low when I checking with the gauge? how low?

Thanks many.

I GO SOME WERE COLD AND THE PRESURE DROPS TWO POUNDS in the tires OR SO I am in the safe zone at 30#and it will not set the the (tpc)off causing the car issues like safe mode ect.

So if your TPM is set at 30, and the pressure in the tire is 34-36, that means it wouldn't activate until 26-27 psi. That's OK if you check your tires regularly with a gauge. If not, they would be 8-10 pounds off when the TPM alerts. Way to low.

my car set the alarm being two ponds low.I set the tpm at 30#that is fine set at for 32# if you want just run 36#like your door said to do and it will give you some wiggle room.
