Not a photoshop. Real deal. Over the next few weeks there will be many more shots until the formal release of info.... debut in November.
i'm no photoshop expert, but still believe it is not the real thing..
i've never seen bmw keep that many similarities from model to the next.. front half is exactly the same except for an E90 facelift new bumper, even the roof looks the same but it's got a black-painted pillar, dimensions are the same, fender curve (wheel wells or whatever they're called) are the same, color on that trunk looks weird, rims can be easily photoshopped..
again i'm not saying i'm 100% sure, but i'd be surprised if the production car turned out 80% like my Z4M

Not trying to be a jerk here, but everything you circled there are differences. I agree it does look some what similar, but there are quite a few differences. Plus remeber some of the lines are still covered by the swirls. You can tell this thing is really not photoshoped. Plus you think they would release this many pictures faked from all these angles? That would be way to much work and some very very high end software. Sorry no way its photoshoped.

The only thing that difficult to ascertain is scale--i.e., how much the next model will grow over the current one.
What is easy to see is that the proportions are very much the same, which IMO is a very good thing.
Of course I'm biased but I do think the E86 Coupes were pretty much perfect--and I'm hoping that the next generation is more of an update than an overhaul. From these pics it would appear there is hope.
i was away from these forums from the time i sold my M.. seems i need another break hehe!
but seriously i'm surprised that the changes not major.. i mean look at the Z3 & Z4!

I think it's an attractive car but it has lost some of the character of the current model. I'll wait till I see the final product before forming any firm opinions. But with that top and all the bits required to operate it the car will no doubt be a few hundred pounds heavier. I've said it before and I still hope for a small light Z2.

Hate the side mirrors -- again...I must love hearing that... ;)
At least we get to see more of the sheet metal.

I don't believe there is an official date yet, but its thought to be late in 09. With production going back to Germany.

Really? Why would they bring it back to Germany? Given the exchange rate (at least until recently), I thought BMW wanted to move more production to SC, and the Z series has always been made there. Having said that, that would mean another ED:thumbup:
Any word on pricing yet??? Thanks,
P.S. -- Sorry to be so out of it, but I've been posted overseas for a while and must admit I hadn't seen anything on this in Roundel, Bimmer or C&D. Has there been a lot on this?
When is this due out???
Word is that it will be shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show on Nov. 21st.

They're moving the next X3 to the Spartanburg plant, and they sell a lot more X3's than Z4's, so they're still saving money on the deal.
The mirrors just have orange tape over the middle, they've done that for some reason on the last few pre-prod cars, and yes, it looks awful, but it's just more camo, not the real thing.

As RedBread said the production in the U.S. is being shifted to higher volume sellers here. The price is again a matter of speculation. Some publications say that it could go north of 50k.
