I heard that iDrive will be integrated in-dash (similar to 3 and 5 series models) in all 1 Series cars ordered with Navigation for November production. I also heard that Logic7 will be an option instead of "Premium Sound"

Can anyone confirm this? Thanks so much!

I find it hard to believe they would produce a couple of months of one dash type and switch. However, if that's true it kind of sucks for me since my 135 w/NAV will be delivered next week.

I've already seen a 2009 128i at a dealership and it had the new I-Drive w/new dash layout.

That's good news! How did it look in person? Nice improvement over the old?

Here's the PDF for the 2009 1 Series which shows pictures of the new iDrive.

I definitely prefer the fold-down screen. Gets rid of the annoying hump when the screen is not used.

There is no hum on the 09 1er, from start of production they will have the new system. The new screen is a special setup that does not require shielding from the sun, better the tft.

Great  Any word on Logic7 for the 1?

I prefer the big units in the middle where you can modify the stereo head unit after with a nice model that comes with navigation like on the VW'S and many other Japanese cars. Hard to get a nice after-market unit in there after.
