Well I left the country for a week, and my car was just sitting around not being used. I started it up and the idle was rough (about 50 degrees outside btw). The Check engine Light came on while it was warming up then went away as I started to drive off..

The car has almost 219,000 miles on it and was well maintained. It drives and idles great once the light goes off.. And even drives well with it on. It is just the initial startup/idle that is a little sketchy..

Well tonight I got called into work (47 degrees outside) and the car actually stalled at idle. The CEL came on and stayed on for about 3 mintues then went off.. Also when it is very cold I hear a slight squeal (sounds like Powersteering pump) that goes away as soon as i give the car a little throttle.

I am going to run the car to have it scanned but last time I went they couldn't read anything because the Check engine light wasn't on.

My car is stock mechanically, so there are no mods to blame...:dunno:

I think i know the problem, Do you park it next to the mustang that you own? It may be leaking fail and touching your bmw.

Although as for the CEL I have no clues, Have you tried to do a search yet?

LOL^^

I have searched quite a bit on this forum.. It seems there are never any followups to state what fixes the problem...

The GT isn't really that bad BTW... Could be worse, It could be a camaro..

Ok, when you going to have check engine light on, just shut the car off so it wount go away, turn the ignition on, and press the gas 5 times. See what code you going to have.

Finally pulled a code. TPS.. But I think it is the wiring, because the clip has been taped up and does not look OEM..lol

Funny thing about this thread is, I logged on to ask about the EXACT same problem, and your car looks EXACTLY like mines (all black, full tint, black rims, chrome lip). My friend was standing behind me and asked when I took a pic of my car. Anyways, same thing happened with my car. On very cold days, but only about 3 or 4 times since it started, I would get a very loud squealing sound which sounded very much like power steering, or a belt. Didn't really pay it too much attention until one day leaving work I was trying to pull out in traffic, with throttle about 50%, my car bogged down like I was giving no gas at all. She sputtered a few times, then kicked in so hard it yanked my neck back. She did it once or twice more, and now she drives but I noticed at about 25k-3k rpm range where my torque curve normally kicks in, the acceleration is no different between me cruising or me trying to pass a car. The CEL came on all of 3 seconds and disappeared, but my car still revs fines but is really lacking on the power now. I've heard that it may be the fuel pump, hopefully not. Ill keep you posted as far as my progress goes, and hopefully you find something out too. BTW, what is the TPS code?

Throttle Position Sensor.. I have yet to change mine because I am almost positive it is the connector..
