I have a 1993 BMW 325i Euro Spec. The Left Hand Rear Bearing needs to be replaced, and I currently have that on order. However, in the Haynes manual I'm looking at, it says the Driveshaft Nut and Bolts need to be replaced before the Driveshaft is reinstalled. What I need to know is this: do they really need to be replaced at the same time, or can I order them and install them after they get here?
Only reason I ask is because I refuse to take my car out onto the Autobahn (the noise is that bad) and I'd really like to get the bearing in as soon as it gets here.

Good choice, stick to bundesstrasse and city streets. VERY few folks on this forum have driven autobahn and know the stresses on a car driving like that.
At autobahn speeds, the drive shaft (suspension, brakes and steering for that matter) are LIFE SUPPORT. DO NOT take a chance with reinstalling old fasteners. They do not have the same holding capacity when they are torqued to yield. I don't know where Speicher is but if you are near Trier, try autohaus Schaal BMW in Bitburg. If not any good private werkstatt should be able to get you the right parts.

Trier is about 30 minutes down the A60 (or A1, I can't keep them straight) from Speicher, and I'll actually be moving to Bitburg within the next month (15KM from Speicher down the B50). I've heard of Schaal before, and I'll most likely hit them up soon. Thanks for the tip.

On the boarder, in Fulda. The post itself is closed now but to the south there are a few places still open. There are still concrete guard towers up on the Zone. If you enjoy driving and need to go east, anywhere on A7 between Wurtzburg and Kassel should make for some good high speed driving.

With any luck, the wife and I will be hitting up Frankfurt in January for a couple of days.

I recommend a place to eat - I have a friend who got his PhD. there (U of H) but got more good info from Profs. at a restaurant.
It's called "Essighaus" decent prices and kind of off the main tourist streets.
