Hi,

1st post in this forum. Hello everybody!

I need to replace the front and rear shocks/struts on my 1992 525i (Manual, with e50 Engine) I searched the web for some Bilstein Shocks but its confusing. I have no idea which ones i need. There seem to be several options depending on the dust cap size, like 1 1/4 inches, 2 1/2 inches etc. Being from germany i'm not into inches etc and some terms are still strange to me. (I dont know where my dustcap is) So any help would be great.

I'm currently looking at this website: http://inpcars.com/shocks-and-struts3/85.html

Does anybody know which one i need, which dustcap size the car has or what else I should pay attention to?

Thanks
Mike

I went with the HDs on the touring and the sports for the sedan. They are great. If you lowered it then go with the sports. Either Call the vendor with your Vin or measure the dust-cap and nut. Or you can look it up on realoem.com by filling in the exact info on your e34

The dust caps they are talking about are the fronts. There are 2 dust caps and 2 different nut sizes.
