my son "gave me" a 88 325is. Dad, to open trunk insert screwdriver. trunk opened without screwdriver. note the car has been sitting for two years. The trunk opened O.K then does open. It may be a centeral lock problem. How do I (brute force with minium damage) deal with opening the trunck- or is there a more subtle way. Thank you all . ps i was a car mechanic for some years so can follow simple procedures

Is the lock already drilled and thats why you are using a screw driver?
Your post is confusing.

this makes it seem like you have solved your own problem....maybe some more explanation is necessary.
