"Car on lift" symbol?

Hi guys, I just got a car on lift symbol. I don't have a manual so I don't know what it means. Besides that, my screen doesn't turn on when I start up the car. I'm just hoping I need to change my battery. The thing is, I never received a low battery warning. Can anyone help me out before I call BMW? Thanks

just checked the manual (have it in PDF format) and couldn't find a symbol that looks like a car on a lift. Is there any text warning at the bottom of your iDrive screen?

Thanks for checking. My iDrive screen is completely dead. I can start the car though. The car on the lift symbol popped on before the screen went out. My radio doesn't even work. I can even spin the iDrive controller freely.

Now the car seems fine. My screen is working as well as the iDrive. I have a feeling computer had a brain fart of some sort. I just hope it doesn't happen again.

Call your SA to double check (I have a great relationship with mine where I can email him about anything and he let's me know if it's worth bringing in etc).

It's a low battery warning.

i had car on lift the other day and it was for my brakes, a message came on the screen and said to take it to the dealer. I think any time the idrive wants you to bring it to the dealer; the idrive will put on that symbol.

Thanks guys. It started happening again. I have a feeling it's my battery. Maybe I'll just change that first.
