So heres the deal...
I currently drive a 2005 dodge magnum. I love the car but its time for a change due to gas prices and the fact that im a broke college student.

My friend stumbled upon a beautiful 1995 M3. The car is gorgeous there are absolutely no flaws in the car that I could find from looking at it thoroughly or from driving it. However it has 165000 miles on it. Now that being said from looking at it and driving it he could have told me it had 40k miles on it and I would have believed him. I mean this car is perfect(from what I can tell).

My question is what should I be looking for in this car? Are there common things that tend to go on this model year? Or is this car gonna run for years and years to come?

Oh yea the guy Id be buying it from works at a BMW dealership and has taken meticulous care of this car. Has all service records and reciepts and such. Hes asking $8000. KBB says $6000. What kind of offer do yall think I should give him?

These cars are as good as the maintenance and TLC they receive. If you want to know what you should look for then check out the sticky at the top of this forum. It will talk about almost every common problem these cars have. That being said the 165,000 miles doesn't really matter. It's just now really broken in.

I agree

If the car has been looked after, 165k miles is nothing

It's all about maintenance. With good records 165k is not a big deal, with lackluster maintenance 165k can be a finished drivetrain.
Post us some pics of the car if possible, inside, outside, interior, I wanna see everything. Also, this might be a weird question but what brand of tires are on the car right now?

If I'm doing strictly city driving (traffic, red-lights etc..) I get about 19-21mpg. If I'm doing strictly highway driving (70-80mph w/ the cruise control on) I get about 27-28mpg. On average I get about 23mpg to a tank of gas.

 I have waay too much time/money/sweat invested into my car to trade w/ anyone unless we're talking about a very very nice M3. There is something to be said for knowing a car's maintenance history and knowing that it runs 100% well. That's worth a lot more to me than say, 30k less miles or something.

yea 165k with maintenance and all service records go for it man. mine has 240k with all service records maintenance done by dealer and it runs great.
