Hi everyone, Ihave a 1995 525i Touring wagon and while cahnging the o2 sensor, i noticed a connecting rubber dampener between teh tramsmission yoke and the drive shaft. this part is cracked and it looks in need of replacement.

does the drive shft just slides towards the back of hte car once I remove the bolts that connects them together? or, do I have ot drop the heat shields and the drive shaft to replace this part?

I don't think you can remove the donut without dropping the heat shield to unbolt the bearing on the driveshaft above the shield.

You will probably need to unbolt the center bearing to get the guibo out.

You will definately need to unbolt the center bearing. You'll need to push the shaft back a couple inches by dipping the driveshaft down in the middle.
