Extended service maintenance

What's the lowest price for an extended service maintenance warranty?

Took the car in for some PM today and asked for a quote for extended service maintenance to 4yrs/50,000mi and was told it would be $799:yikes:. The SA said that the price is negotiable and to talk with someone in their Finance Dept.

I called two other dealers and was quoted $599 and $399. The finance guy from the lowest price said that the extension is honored by and can be used at any dealership, just like the original warranty :thumbup:

So, I'll see if the first dealer will match the offer since the car was bought there originally and I'm happy with their service. If not, I'll just purchase the warranty from the other dealer.

Interesting. If you knew your car would qualify to have a complete brake job in the 4/50 time period, it would make sense to go for it. If it just qualifies to have the pads replaced (no rotors), then its a little harder to justify. Definitely not worth it if you just anticipate having an oil change, wiper blades and brake fluid flushed.
