If BMWNA is indeed reading the boards, then I think it is only fair to give them an idea of the overall scope of things... not just those of us who have problems. I just wanted to chime in and say that "so far, so good". I've had my '03 330i since the beginning of Feb (took delivery at the PC), and I have yet to have any problems. *knock on wood*
I've had a couple little bits of weirdness, but nothing major and they went away. So far, this is the best car I've ever owned... and most of my other cars were German-made as well.

Sure, but wouldn't it be better with different wheels and painted Tourmaline Violet?
:dunno:

Am I missing something here? I believe he did get Tourmaline Violet. At no extra cost. The wheels are a different matter, but that could go under the posting about choices.

That's what I was trying to joke about, but it looks like the violet was possible.

Yeah, I understand that an accomodating dealer can get you Tourmaline Violet since it is a standard color in other parts of the world. BMW NA just doesn't want to see too many of them on the road -- the color probably sends the wrong impression to American buyers. Like Barney Purple does.

Well, I created this thread first. It was meant to show BMWNA that not every one of us is always griping about our cars service and maintenance history.
Now, being able to order a special color like TV, but not get the wheels I wanted with it... that's why I created the other thread.
Give me the reliable BMW that I have now... with my special color AND the wheels I wanted... and I'd be the happiest BMW customer ever!

Glad to hear that yours is running reliably. I hope mine will be too. And although some of the unavailable options are interesting, I'm quite pleased with the package I was able to order.

Same here my man,
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this car. I get a thrill taking it to the gas station. I enjoy cleaning the glass inside and out. I obsessively check the tire pressures. I love to stop by the dealer and just see what new stuff is out and take new brochures. Just about the only thing that has gone wrong so far is a broken clutch stop and some strange behaviour on the part of the central locking system and trunk. (This may be to how I keep the key in my pocket????)
