need tire advice

hey guys, i need some advice on some tires, i have the rims shown below on my car, i went to americas tire and he was recomending the pirelli for seasons in a 235 45 17, the tires i had on there before were 245 45 17 cooper tires and they absolutley sucked, anyways, he talked me into the pirellis and since i got home, after researching them on their site and tirerack, they have really bad reviews. good thing i have a 30 day period where i dont like them, i can bring them back. I have been looking and it seems like the kumho asx or ast, it looks it has good reviews and is about half the price. Do you guys think those are good. Also what size do you guys think i should go with? there is a big difference on price between the 225 and the 235s what do u guys reccomend? thank in advanced. oh and by the way, i am looking for more comfort and lower noise than performance.
