Gary,
I have a '08 550i with just 2600 miles, and I just sent my wheels back to your Indy store today due to vibration problems. I had my 18" A7's rebalanced at my BMW dealership, for which you guys paid, and it helped...but only a bit. Vibration in the entire car and shimmy in the wheel just won't go away. The tires were installed pointing in the right direction, fyi. I had zero vibration with my 19" summer tires and 172's.
I am really fed up with the situation, not to mention the back-and-forth involved with the installing and removing of wheels over and over. I was told you guys would try and troubleshoot the problem and would then ship the wheels and tires back to me, replacing whatever is deemed to be defective, if anything.
My biggest worry is that you guys will just throw them back on the Hunter, rebalance them for the 3rd time and ship them back to me.....just to have me go through the same thing again, if it doesn't fix the problem. My mechanic said one of the tires was bopping up and down when he spun them, and was a bit of an egg....so I am hoping that tire gets replaced. I also had what appeared to be a bad wheel which caused MUCH vibration when installed on the front.
I tried swapping wheels on each side, front to back and vice versa with minimal improvement. So, I am VERY concerned about the process when you guys troubleshoot and what the odds are that my problem will be fixed. If the issue is not fixed, I will be expecting a full refund so I can go buy some OEM rims. Any info is appreciated to help ease my nerves and bad back. Thanks... Dave
