Gary,

I have a '08 550i with just 2600 miles, and I just sent my wheels back to your Indy store today due to vibration problems. I had my 18" A7's rebalanced at my BMW dealership, for which you guys paid, and it helped...but only a bit. Vibration in the entire car and shimmy in the wheel just won't go away. The tires were installed pointing in the right direction, fyi. I had zero vibration with my 19" summer tires and 172's.

I am really fed up with the situation, not to mention the back-and-forth involved with the installing and removing of wheels over and over. I was told you guys would try and troubleshoot the problem and would then ship the wheels and tires back to me, replacing whatever is deemed to be defective, if anything.

My biggest worry is that you guys will just throw them back on the Hunter, rebalance them for the 3rd time and ship them back to me.....just to have me go through the same thing again, if it doesn't fix the problem. My mechanic said one of the tires was bopping up and down when he spun them, and was a bit of an egg....so I am hoping that tire gets replaced. I also had what appeared to be a bad wheel which caused MUCH vibration when installed on the front.

I tried swapping wheels on each side, front to back and vice versa with minimal improvement. So, I am VERY concerned about the process when you guys troubleshoot and what the odds are that my problem will be fixed. If the issue is not fixed, I will be expecting a full refund so I can go buy some OEM rims. Any info is appreciated to help ease my nerves and bad back. Thanks... Dave

It's been a week now that my wheels/tire have been sitting at TireRack, and I have NO update. What gives? :dunno:

I am do apologize for how long this is taking. The adjustments area is very backlogged from the winter season rush. Rest assured your package is still in queue and they are working on them in the order recieved. The rep watching the situation is in contact with the warehouse staff and will call you with a solution as soon as it is properly looked at.

I will anxiously await word. I would hope my rims/tires would get precedent over new orders. I've been without use of my 550i now for almost 2 weeks. I can't drive it with the summer tires with these temps and weather conditions. I would appreciate some news VERY soon, or I will expect a full refund.

Gary....Now, I expect a refund! I was assured by your customer service today that I'd have an update tonight on my wheels by 8PM. No one has any idea as to why it's taking so long, and NO ONE GOT BACK TO ME tonight as promised! So, I am done!

I sent a request to CS to have my full amount refunded to me.

Well, no refund, but I did get my wheels back, 2 weeks after they arrived back at your facility. :dunno:

I took it for a quick spin on the highway, but I am making no final verdict till I get to work and back on Friday....my usual stomping grounds where I can get a real feel for things.

You guys said only 1 wheel was out of balance. My BMW mechanic said one tire was also out of round, but no tire was replaced. I am not even sure if it was checked. The other thing that puzzles me is that the 2 front tires that were causing shimmy were found to be already in balance, so I am not sure how this will fix anything, since nothing was done to them.

If this doesn't work, full refund was promised to me. Hopefully it will be ok....update to come.
