I've bought a couple sets of tires for my 325i from you guys, and am especially happy with the Dunlop Wintersport 3Ds that I got last year; it's already been pretty snowy around here.

That said (and on a different car/subject), I'm really surprised how poorly my wife's new Mazda3 does in the snow. Are Goodyear RSAs particularly bad as all-weather tires go for winter usage? But even my fiscally conservative wife agrees that we should look into winter tires for her car.

Looking on the TR site, they actually recommend the 3Ds for her car also. The stock setup is 205/50-17, but we'd go with a packaged 16" steel wheel. This will be my first complete package from TR, and I have the following questions:

1) Does the package price include mounting, balancing, stems and all that stuff? Is this expense sort of included in the price of the wheels as shown in the quote?

2) What about lug nuts? I would expect that steel wheels require a different type of nut than what is on the stock alloy wheels.

Sorry for the Mazda-related question in a Bimmer forum -- just pretend I'm ordering a steel wheel package for a 1-series. Oops, they didn't import the 1-series hatchback, did they? :p

No problem.

1) Yes, when you buy wheels and tires at the same time, we mount and balance for no extra charge.

2) Yes, new lugs are included with the 16" steel wheels that we sell for this car.

rsa's are pretty terrible. they were OEM all seasons on the E46 non sport package cars, so its almost a 10 year old design.

even back then they sucked pretty bad :D
