Hi folks. First post. Is there a reference somewhere to the "E" model numbers? For example, I thought the 2000 750iL was an E32, but now I'm not sure. Is that correct?
Thanks all.

The '95 thru 2001 7 series is the E38.
2002 and newer are E65/E66 (V8 and V12 respectively)
E32 is from '88 thru '94.

Actually, the E65 is the designation of the 2002-2008 short wheel base version of the 7er and the E66 the long wheel base version. I believe long V8s and short V12s are possible in different markets.
(And for more trivia, E67 is the bullet proof version and E68 is the hydrogen version.)

Thanks Mr. Wong for the additional clarity.

Try the Wikipedia, there is plenty of info regarding the E designations and other BMW details.

Simply scroll to the bottom and click on "show" on the "BMW road car timeline, 1980s–present" table.
