I've got a 2002 525it (wagon) on which I've been running Continental ContiTouring Cantact 95Hs. I'm more aggressive than the average driver in San Diego and drive 95% of the time on hot, dry pavement (when it [i]does[i] rain, I need good traction). My goal is to get the longest life out of a set of tires without compromising the (limited) performance I get in the Continentals. I was thinking of switching from the Touring 95Hs to the ContiPRO Contact (UTQG: 400 AA A). Does this make sense to you? Or would you point me in a different direction? The size is: 225/55-16.
Thanks in advance for your input.

Yes, I would agree . Going to a more aggressive tire would compromise the wear you're looking for, and the Pro Contact is a nice step up in grip from the old CH95. Just keep in mind that when going to a brand new full tread depth tire it might not feel quite as responsive as one that is nearly worn out.

How would you compare the Pro Contact with the Dunlop SP Sport Signature, The BF Goodrich Traction T/A and the Yokohama Avid V4?

I'd expect a bit better handing and faster steering response with Sport Signature and Avid V4s, but likely less wear than the Pro Contact. The Traction T/A is just fair at best, an aging design.

Thanks for all the info. I'll opt for the Pro Contact's extra tread life. (Although it's a sad commentary on my life. It used to be all about performance :tsk: ).
