Gary... in reading another post, I think you said the following:
For a 2009 335I (convertible) with the sport package (thus 225/40R18 fronts and 255/35R18 on the`rear)... did you say that one could do a 225/40R18 all around, using the same OEM rims??
I was under the impression that if I wanted to do 225/40R18 all around - that I would have to buy new rims to replace the rear rims.
Appreciate your help - thanks

225 on the rear is going to be real stretched. still within the spec, but i personally would do 235/40/18. i mounted a 225/40/18 on a rear rim once and it was very stretched, the gap between the rim and the sidewall was quite pronounced.
side effect to running a 235/40/18 would be that the speedometer would be closer to actual speed, and your odometer would tick up slower (the larger diameter will cancel out some of the built in speedometer display error, and cause 100 miles to register at about 97 miles)
that would be my personal pref, i'm sure gary will weigh in on this.

Either 225/40R18 or 235/40R18 would fit on both the front and rear wheels. Both are common options for the E93 Sport for winter use that will not require buying new wheels.

OK..,sounds like the larger rear OEM rims COULD be used for 225/40R18... but the info from ORIENT330iNYC indicates that it would be better to get rims (that match the front).
If my goal is to use A/S non-runflats all year long, and I want to occasionally rotate (front to back, back to front)... SHOULD I just plan on buying new rims (same as the fronts) for the rear ??
Will everything still fit properly (and not just for winter)??

no, i would just go with 235 all around. its less of a stretch on the wider rears.
now if you want to rotate, you'll need the same width wheels front and rear., you might run into clearance issues in front with the rear rims. in that case, you can pick up a set of the front wheels and mount them on the rear, and use some spacers in the rear if you want to make the wheels flush with the fenders. fronts in the rear will look tucked. everything else will fit fine.
