Trans Failsafe Prog.

I was driving and all of a sudden the car kind of jerked and the Trans Failsafe Prog came up. I have been searching and it seems that it could be a few other problems besides the trans. I have a 95 740i with 180k miles.

Well I took the car to work and nothing happened. Although when I went to warm up my car during lunch the Check Engine Light came on when I turned off the heat, but when I turned it back on it went off. Could this just be some errors. Or is it something more.

Have the battery load tested. Random errors seem to happen with a weakening or not fully charged battery. Trans Prog is usually the first.

The battery isn't even a year old.

The battery isn't even a year old.
Get the battery and the alternator checked. Even if it is brand new.

Rule out the simple (and common) stuff first.
