Is the following a good deal for 2009 X5 3.0?

MSRP $50220
36 months
12k miles
8.375 tax rate
4.2% interest rate (.00175 MF)
0 down only first and tags due at signing
$690 / months tax included. I calculate approximately 47600 cap cost plus addons

Are you kidding??
docmri, wj94's not making your payments, you are.
It sounds quite fair to me.. with that discount, it appears under $1k above wholesale, you're at under $700 all in, it's the right car, it's in stock, and you're getting it before year end. Get the shopping behind you and start driving. You can nickel and dime this deal to death, but judging by your username, I'd guess you're a doctor at an MRI clinic. Not sure what you're hourly rate is, but it's not worth wasting any more of your billable rate to bleed out any more dollars out of this deal. Thank you for helping this economy and for helping a CA with a sale.

Adrian,
Thanks for reply and your deductive reasoning was correct. However, the car is actually for my brother with a new baby on the way. He needs to watch the bottom line a little closer.
With that being said...do you still think it is a good deal?

No, not kidding at all, but then again I would never spend $700/month on an SUV. Considering that M3's are leasing lower than that amount, I would again say....no, not a good deal. I would not being paying "normal" pricing when every company other than MINI is offering incredible deals.

Wait, you can't compare an 08 M3 vert or sedan (much less ILBMW's anomalous lease deal) to an X5 deal! :tsk: We're not even in the same galaxy. Unless you know of an X5-M SAV that has a special lease that I don't know about.:p
The OP didn't ask "How's this lease deal on an X5 compared to a ____?"
And nothing's "normal" these days. We all know you don't pay "normal" pricing. You frugalista you.:AF330i:

Of course I do. It's more than fair. The dealer makes a little, the CA makes a modest living, the finance manager... uhh, well, let's hope he or she made some basis points on the other customer. :eeps:
If you're brother can afford payments in the $600 range, what bottom line are you talking about if he can afford a vehicle in that payment range? Still, I understand. Everyone has a budget. I think for a $50k BMW, that's a respectable payment when you consider what you're getting, maintenance, handling, marque, etc.

ADrian,
thanks for reply again. The way I look at it. If he can get about invoice he should be at around 644 tax included. If he was 1000 under invoice he would be at 611.
He is happy for everyone to make something its just in these hard times he figures he has less so everyone might be happier to make a little less ..LOL
Honestly, my assumption is that even selling this car (or any car) at invoice or even under invoice nets the dealer $$$ from incentives not known to public. I suspect they also save money once a car is moved off the lot to make room for something else.
My gut was that this car can fairly be had at invoice (or better) with everyone still making money. Is that correct or am I overreaching on my assumption?:dunno:
