Hi guys and gals....

I have recently brought two new rears for my E60 and have concerns that they appear to be a 'paired' tread pattern of which I have two lefts?

If you look at this picture you can see both tires do opposite water removal techniques, left pushing it towards the road and the right tire compressing it and sending it towards the inside edge.

I'm sure the right tire will simply lift in heavy rain as the water is compressed towards the small inside groove?

Any advice is welcome.

The tires are: Vredestein ULTRAC Sessanta sized 295/25/20 and fit to ACS type 4 rims.

Thanks in advanced.

those are the correct tires, vredstein does not make seperate left and right tires.

if i recall the explanation of this, the water evacuates from either end of those grooves, and those grooves are long enough that at all times one if not both ends are open and not "sealed" against the road.

I had a set of Michelin's that I questioned as well. Got the same explanation.

And let us know how they do. Not a lot of Vred reports from BMW owners...

.

Seems sort of odd to have assymetric tires but not make left and right versions.
