Hello....I'm new to the board and currently investigating purchasing a 2003 X5 4.4i as a daily driver.
I am totally new to the BMW world so I am trying to learn as much as I can.
Is it reasonable to expect discounts or rebates on new BMW's? Do dealers work on the Invoice price? Do BMW dealers typically take trades?
Any info is appreciated. Thank you.

First of all, welcome.
Second, GO BILLS!!!
Third, GO SABRES!!!
If you want to save a quick minimum 7% and don't mind a flight to Europe, look into the European Delivery Program. You can find the info on http://www.bmwusa.com under "Virtual Center" then "European Delivery".
What model(s) are you thinking about?

Hi Steve....
I'm thinking about the X5, 4.4i, with the Premium Package...Titanium Silver with black interior....The European Delivery probably is not an option for.

Definitely not an option, since the car is built in the US, right?
I don't know demand for X5s, but BMWs are still in pretty high demand. Getting a lot off of MSRP is not easy. It can be done, but you're probably looking at at least $1500 over. Of course, towards teh end of the model year, there may be some deals to clear out old stock.

So $1500 over invoice is not uncommon? Is this universal among most models? Originally posted by Tanning machine

Consider the Rizzo Method (http://pkx.todiefor.com/cars/bmw/e46faq/rizzo.html) as a way to get a lower price. Also check with TedW at Carbone BMW (Utica, NY) and see what sort of deal he's offering. He's reasonably close to where you are.

A pretty intresting read I must say. Actually I already do something similar to this. I always try to be as educated and prepared as possible....hence my registering here for info. Maybe Ted will chime in. You are right he is not too far from me and worth a drive if the deal was right. Thanks for the info and post. Originally posted by Spectre
