New member here. Hopefully someone can provide some insight to a tire question.

Running Continental run-flats on my 550i. 15,000 miles. One of the rears has a slow leak. First question is I assume run-flats cannot be patched/repaired? Second, what's the risk of going with a less expensive tire brand such as Continental's General tire line? Third, with one rear having 15,000 on it am I better replacing both to avoid imbalance or road noise?

Thanks, John

The experts say don't mix and match. I've put about 4,000 miles on 2 replacement Cooper's while still keeping the old Eagles until they wear a bit more. No issues at all. Sounds, feels and drives same as before. I'm now considering leaving the Coopers for a couple of new Kumho Ecsta ASX on tire rack for $65 a piece. Seems like a decent tire, good looks, and very cheap.

I just put my winter wheels on and took a close look at the Kumho ASX tires on my 3-season wheels. After 22,265 miles they are down to the wear bars. I thought that I would get more miles than that before having to replace them. These were mounted on my e46.
