Not sure if the right spot but, I was wondering how many of you would trust valet parking? What kind of car do you drive and would you? Why? Reason i ask i was out of town today and the closest parking was valet and i was in a hurry so i parked there. I didnt let them park even though the guy argued with me saying he could only do it. Reason i made the choice were i had my bmw and interior is a creme beige and black. This guys was very dirty. He was also smoking so no way in hell im letting him get it. I wouldnt allow him in my tl either. Just curious what everyone else here thinks and feels. In simple words, NO ONE TOUCHES MY CAR. Besides family ofcourse.

While i was there i also saw them shifting from drive to reverse while the car was in motion. It was very disturbing lol. It was in a brand newrange rover to. What an idiot that guy mustve been.

You could have posted this in General BMW 'cuz it covers all models but you will find basically the same answer I think. No Valets allowed for the most part. :)

yea same here... although it might be "glamarous" depending on where you are to valet your car I find it more annoying than anything.

I just dont trust the valets with either being able to drive and handle the car or not breaking/stealing anything. I was forced to valet last week when I got in the wrong entrance to a restaurant (didnt want to back out with 6 cars behind me ) but I hated giving my car over to the guy. Its also a pain because I had to give him the key instead of just keeping it in my pocket (comfort access)

I don't care at all. I worked as a valet in college and in the 2 years I worked there we had a handful of damage claims. We were parking at least 300 cars a day. In the west I feel like everyone uses valet.

When I do valet, I always give them a $20 upon taking the car, so they park it right up front. Eliminates long drives and any joyriding, and you always get the car back fast.

I always valet park and usually are a very good tiper at the minimum i offer 25 dollars each time. if you do this constantly they began to recognise who and what you are about, trust me if you do this they will treat you like royalty. It helps to pay hefty and occasionality.

If I valet the car I just give them the fob and keep my valet key to myself, lock the truck through the center console, then lock center console as well. They dont need to see whats inside there or my truck.
Also I have heard but can confirm if the car is started and it detects the Valet key is missing it will only go top speed to whatever you have in "Speed Limit" menu. Set that to 20 so no joy riding lol. I heard this somewhere but doubt its true.

Okie buddy, i still gave the guy a 20 jus to show me the spot but he isnt moving my car. Call me an ass or watever you please. Ill tip the guy but no way in hell im giving him the keys. Especially after i seen how his driving was. BTW this has nothing to do with being down to earth. Ill let my friends drive and ****. I dont trust every other person on the street. If you do great for you.

My car has 300 HP and a 6MT and I am a little afraid of the joyride potential. Also, does the average valet nowadays know how to drive a manual transmission?
