So we had an honest 10-12" of snow by noon on Friday, but had an appointment we wanted to keep. While blowing out the driveway I saw a couple other vehicles go up the street, so how bad could it be? Of course, I should have noted that they were all SUVs...

As soon as I backed out of the driveway and tried to go forward, I realized my mistake and almost called the trip off right there. But I could feel the Wintersport 3Ds trying to get a grip, so I turned of the DSC and with some (OK, a lot) of wheelspin, I started making foward progress.

It's also a slight upgrade going out of the sub from our driveway, so that made it even worse, and a couple times I had to back up a bit and try to get some momentum. But, as I said, the rear tires had grip and it was just a matter of how much snow I was plowing, and we did manage to get up the grade and out onto the semi-plowed main roads. I didn't have any more serious problems, and at least getting back home was easy since it was a downhill shot into the cleared driveway.

Anyway, I've been impressed with this car with winter tires since I got them, and I don't think I'll ever be testing them to this extent again!
