Not sure if anyone's seen this from Edmunds yet but there's quite a few pics and some info. Looks like the new Z4 is going to be 221 - 364 lbs heavier than the current model and from the pics there is virtually no trunk space with the top down (maybe enough for a small duffle-bag) :thumbdwn:. It does get an optional twin-clutch transmission and the N54 TT though.

Ah, for some reason I never noticed that sub-forum before, guess I just like the earlier models better...haha. Mods please move this thread into the 09+ Z4 forum. Thx!

If it's that much heavier it seems clear BMW knows it's going into cruiser territory and they'll likely introduce a Z2.. can't wait! :)

I like your thinking.. while we're at it, let's suppose a Z2 coupe for maximum happiness. :beerchug:

Is it the case that the 255hp version will be about the same weight as the outgoing model? I think it's better to compare apples to apples. Adding the two turbos, the heavier engine block, the intercooler and fluid, the additional exhaust piping is 150 pounds, IIRC.
EDIT: I should have RTFM.
An sDrive30i with a manual transmission is 221 pounds heavier than its 2008 counterpart while the sDrive35i with a manual is up 364 pounds over its predecessor.
