hello again everyone, thanks to everyone who responded to my first thread about the
535i im trying to get as my first car

but i have a few more questions, mainly concerning parts:

1. what automatic transmission fluid does a 535i 4-speed auto transmission use?
any brand recomendations? also, what type of differential fluid should be used?

2. what brake pads i should use? (i mean street pads) what brands do you
guys prefer? also, what type of brake fluid?

3. what weight and brand of engine oil? (car has about 156,000 miles)

4. the car came with an ALPINA emblem on the hood, im 99.999% sure its a fake but im curious what you all think (i appologize if the picture doesnt come thru)

in regards to automatic transmission fluid, someone on another thread mentioned non-synthetic Dexron fluid for 535i auto trannys, is this correct?

ANY INFORMATION FOR ANY OF THE ABOVE QUESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!

1. Not sure.

2. Dependent on how you drive, where you drive, etc.

3. The reason there are oil weights is so the oil can, for lack of a better phrase, perform better in different weathers.

Where do you live?

4. it's fake.

1.??

2. street driving, maybe 'spirited' street driving at the most ;)

3. i live im southeastern michigan, about an hour away from Detroit (officially the worst place to live right now, lol) climate wise, cold winters and hot summers

4. i know its fake, im ditching it when i get the car :)

1. For the Tranny oil you can use, Dexron II ATF (Service manual Suggestion).
2. Not to sure about the street brakes. But here's a site on street brakes
http://www.raceinspired.com/ps-3824-49-hawk-hps-performance-street-brake-pads-bmw-525i-e34-1989-1995--rear-brake.aspx

3. I use Mobil 1 Extended Performance 15W-50 Synthetic. I have 270,000Kms (it's about the same as your in miles about 156,000)

Hope I helped a bit

if your Bimmer was a true Apline it would be a B3, B5 B6, B7 B8, B10, B11, B12, D3, D10 or Roadster S. These are the True Alpine versions I do believe.
