Well, I wasn't expecting this to happen like it did...
In the interest of saving money, the new wife & I have decided to consolodate from 3 cars (read: payments) down to 2. We will keep the '02 Chev crew cab truck, get rid of her Grand Am and my '02 M3 Coupe, and look at getting a used 5er.
This was to be accomplished in 3 steps:
1: Sell M3
2: Get used 5er
3: Sell Grand Am

So we started researching 5er's, shopping around on the Internet, went to BMWUSA.com and built a new one just for grins (with the color and options we would want), went to BMW Northwest (near Tacoma). After doing this we settled on a 530iA as the car of choice, no older than '01, Premium & Sport packages would be nice. We really kind of liked Sterling Gray as a color but didn't think we would be able to find a used one.
Put a couple ads on the Internet for the M3 Thursday evening.
Friday we had to go to Seattle to run a couple errands, and had an hour or so to kill while there. We decide to head over to BMW Seattle and see what they have on the used lot. When we walk in we see this :yikes: :

This is the exact car we built on the web, Sterling Gray, Steptronic, Premium, Sport, Cold Weather package, Xenons.
Long story short, with the incentives currently going, this car was not a lot more than a nice used one, and they worked us a great deal using the M3 as a trade in, and we ended up having a lower payment as a result!

Took it home and Zaino'd it:

Now all we have to do is get rid of the Grand AM.

Sweet new car! It wasn't hard giving up the M3 for the 530?

Lose that dealer's license plate frame, it doesn't belong there :thumbdwn:

Your photos remind me of the day I picked up my baby... shiny and clean :D

Thanks guys! It was a little sad to see the M3 go, but it just doesn't fit into our finances right now. I'm sure there will be a new BMW in the future that I will want anyway (V8 M3, M6?)...we'll see. And I will definitely be getting rid of the dealer plates!

Sweet car. In fact, I just bought the same car but in silver from BMW of Bellevue. Just to make it more exciting, I drove the 530 for a week.. loved it so much... we drove back in this weekend w/our Lexus RX300 and traded it off for an X5 for her. The dealer and salesman really like me now.

I'll get some pix and post them soon.

Beautiful car. Hey-- if you keep the Grand Am you could "graft" the Grand Am's nose onto the e39-- and then you'd have an e60! :D
